Today, given the number of companies manufacturing health products, including laboratory diagnostic kits, providing suitable solutions for validating the products of these companies, as well as identifying genuine products, seems more necessary than ever. One of the available solutions is to prepare an authenticity label and attach it to manufactured products. The Health Product Authenticity Plan is a scheme introduced by the country’s Food and Drug Organization for tracking and distinguishing genuine health products from counterfeit ones.
This plan emphasizes the use of decentralized methods for determining product authenticity and centralized methods for verifying the authenticity of this category of products. All manufacturers can use this scheme by considering a standard process to demonstrate the authenticity of their manufactured product.
A laboratory diagnostic kit is one of the most widely used items in medical and specialized diagnostic laboratories. Their procurement and supply face problems such as the existence of smuggled and non-standard kits, and a lack of assurance regarding the authenticity of the product purchased by the laboratories. Similar problems are also seen regarding many domestically produced kits, which sometimes lack manufacturing licenses and authenticity labels; these categories of non-standard products can have more serious consequences.
Reasons for requiring the use of authenticity labels:
- Managing the supply of goods and the ability to identify and track genuine goods in the country
- Quality control and monitoring of the supply of genuine goods in the country
- Ensuring the provision of high-quality goods to the consumer
- Ease for the consumer to distinguish genuine products from non-genuine ones
- Rapid identification of counterfeit goods by the organization and prevention of their supply to consumers
In order to comply with the requirements of supervisory organizations and bodies such as the Food and Drug Administration, the General Administration of Medical Equipment, and the Ministry of Health, the knowledge-based company ap-rad is committed to attaching authenticity labels to the products manufactured at ap-rad. The authenticity label on products manufactured by this company contains information including: the Global Trade Item Number (GTIN), a tracking identifier (UID), the Lot/Batch Number, the Expiration Date, and the unique authenticity code.
Ways to verify and control product authenticity with new labels:
1- Inquiry via the website http://www.ttac.ir
You can verify the authenticity of the purchased product by going to the above address and entering each of the required codes in their designated fields.
2- Inquiry via SMS system or automated telephone
An authenticity code is printed on the authenticity labels. This code is a 16-digit number covered by a layer that will be revealed after the consumer scratches and removes this layer. This code can be verified by sending it via SMS to 20008822 or by calling the automated telephone number 0216185, ensuring the authenticity of the purchased product.
3- Inquiry via the barcode printed on the label
The barcodes (QR Code) printed on the label can be scanned using a smartphone.
It is clear that if any discrepancy is observed between the information received after the inquiry and the kit in hand with the ap-rad label, and the product in question is not verified through the above methods, the authenticity of the product is not confirmed. Therefore, if you encounter such cases, please inform this company immediately for further follow-up.
