BRAF V600E Mutation Real Time PCR Kit
The BRAF gene encodes a serine/threonine kinase that plays a key role in the Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase (MAPK) signaling pathway. This pathway is one of the most important signaling cascades regulating cell growth, division, and programmed cell death, and its disruption can lead to uncontrolled cell proliferation and tumor formation.
The most common genetic alteration in this gene is the V600E mutation. This mutation results from a point mutation (T1799A) in codon 600 of exon 15 on chromosome 7, leading to the substitution of valine with glutamic acid at this position (p.Val600Glu). This amino acid change causes constitutive activation of the MAPK pathway, resulting in increased cell proliferation, tumor invasion, and resistance to apoptosis.
