Viral Transport Medium (VTM) Kit

Viruses capable of causing disease in humans are mostly enveloped viruses, which are generally less stable than non‑enveloped viruses. Therefore, for molecular diagnostic testing, it is recommended that after collecting samples (from the throat or nasopharynx), viruses such as influenza (types A and B), coronaviruses, parainfluenza viruses, and other similar pathogens be stored and transported using Viral Transport Media (VTM). These media help preserve sample quality and prevent viral degradation.

The Viral Transport Medium (VTM) kit produced by Amir Peyvand Company is designed to include an isotonic solution containing protective protein, antibiotics to control microbial contamination, and one or more buffers to regulate pH. This formulation ensures that the samples remain safe and stable for transport and subsequent testing.
