The t(1;19) TCF3::PBX1 Fusion Detection Kit, a product of ap-rad, is designed and manufactured for the rapid, sensitive, and specific detection of the TCF3::PBX1 fusion. This kit is an efficient tool for accurately identifying patients with this translocation and for making correct clinical decisions.
The t(1;19) TCF3::PBX1 fusion, also known as E2A::PBX1, is observed in approximately 5 to 6 percent of children and about 3 percent of adults with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). This translocation is seen almost exclusively in pre-B-ALL with cytoplasmic Igµ expression.
However, this genetic alteration has also been rarely reported in other subtypes, including:
- pro-B-ALL
- common ALL (less than 1%)
- T-ALL
- AML
The presence of the t(1;19) TCF3::PBX1 fusion is associated with features linked to high clinical risk, including:
- Increased blast cell count
- High lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) levels
- Central Nervous System (CNS) involvement
These features underscore the necessity for the rapid and accurate detection of this translocation.
