Description

31 Respiratory Pathogens Detection Real Time PCR Kit

The 31 Respiratory Pathogens Detection Real Time PCR Kit is designed and manufactured for rapid, sensitive, and differential detection of 31 respiratory pathogens. This kit covers a comprehensive range of viral, bacterial, and fungal pathogens.

1) Detection of 20 respiratory viruses including:

  • SARS-CoV-2
  • Influenza A
  • Influenza B
  • MERS-CoV
  • Human Coronavirus 229E
  • Human Coronavirus HKU1
  • Human Coronavirus NL63
  • Human Coronavirus OC43
  • Human Rhinovirus (HRV)
  • Influenza A H1N1
  • RSV
  • hMPV
  • Adenovirus
  • CMV
  • Parainfluenza Virus-1
  • Parainfluenza Virus-2
  • Parainfluenza Virus-3
  • Parainfluenza Virus-4
  • Human Bocavirus (HBoV)
  • Enterovirus (EV)

2) Detection of 10 respiratory bacteria including:

  • Streptococcus pneumoniae (Sp)
  • Staphylococcus aureus (Sa)
  • Haemophilus influenzae (Hi)
  • Mycoplasma pneumoniae (Mp)
  • Chlamydia pneumoniae (Cp)
  • Legionella pneumophila (Lp)
  • Pseudomonas aeruginosa (Pa)
  • Klebsiella pneumoniae (Kp)
  • Bordetella pertussis (Bp)
  • Bordetella parapertussis (Bpp)

3) Detection of 1 important respiratory fungus:

  • Pneumocystis jirovecii (Pj)

Acute respiratory infections are among the leading causes of mortality from infectious diseases worldwide, claiming nearly four million lives annually. Approximately 98% of these deaths are attributed to lower respiratory tract infections. These infections can be caused by a wide range of pathogens including viruses, bacteria, and fungi.

High-Risk Groups

The following individuals have the highest risk of infection and developing severe symptoms:

  • Immunocompromised patients
  • Pregnant women
  • Individuals with chronic diseases such as heart, lung, kidney disease, or sickle cell disease
  • Children under two years of age
  • Elderly over 65 years of age

These pathogens can cause conditions ranging from common cold and mild pharyngitis to more severe diseases such as bronchitis and pneumonia. Delayed treatment, especially in vulnerable groups, may lead to respiratory failure or chronic lung diseases.

Transmission Routes

The spread of these infections typically occurs through:

  • Direct contact with infected individuals
  • Respiratory droplets from coughing or sneezing
  • Touching contaminated surfaces

Although different pathogens can cause similar symptoms, identifying the exact pathogen is essential for appropriate treatment selection. Due to significant differences in treating viral, bacterial, and fungal infections, rapid and differential diagnosis is particularly important.

Importance of Real-Time PCR Technique

The Real-Time PCR method, due to its high speed, appropriate accuracy, and great sensitivity, is considered the gold standard for molecular diagnosis of respiratory pathogens. This technique enables simultaneous detection of multiple pathogens, facilitating timely treatment and preventing disease spread.

With comprehensive coverage of common and important respiratory infection agents, this kit provides a powerful and efficient tool for accurate, rapid, and reliable diagnosis in medical diagnostic laboratories and healthcare centers.
