Description

Rubella Virus Detection rRT-PCR Kit | Rubella Virus Detection rRT-PCR Kit

Rubella virus is an RNA virus belonging to the Togaviridae family and is the sole member of the Rubivirus genus, which causes rubella (German measles).

Rubella Virus Detection

This virus is typically transmitted through contact with respiratory droplets expelled when an infected person coughs or sneezes. After entering the body, the virus spreads throughout the body within approximately 5 to 7 days.

Symptoms of Rubella

Symptoms usually appear 2 to 3 weeks after exposure to the virus. In children, the illness is often mild, presenting with symptoms such as skin rash, low-grade fever (below 39°C), nausea, and mild conjunctivitis. The rash, which occurs in 50-80% of cases, lasts for 1 to 3 days and typically begins on the face and neck before spreading downward.

Swollen lymph nodes behind the ears and on the neck are the most characteristic clinical sign of rubella. In adults, particularly women, symptoms like arthritis and joint pain may also appear, usually lasting between 3 to 10 days. However, 25-50% of infected individuals show no symptoms but can still transmit the disease.

Rubella Virus Detection Kit

The rubella virus IgM antibody test is considered the gold standard diagnostic method, but RT-PCR testing serves as a confirmatory test for diagnosing acute rubella. In respiratory samples, rubella RNA is typically detectable from two days before the onset of the rash up to seven days after the rash appears.

The Rubella Virus Detection rRT-PCR Kit from ap-rad is designed for the detection and differentiation of the rubella virus using a one-step Real-Time PCR technique, aiming to improve public health and accelerate virus identification to prevent its transmission to vulnerable individuals.
