Description
Fungi Molecular Detection Kit (Fungiplex PCR Kit)
Fungi are a large group of eukaryotic organisms that include molds and yeasts. These organisms are dispersed through the environment and air by transmitting their spores and can grow under suitable conditions. Many fungi naturally reside in the human body, but when overgrown, especially in individuals with immunodeficiency, they can cause fungal infections.
Fungal infections can occur on the skin, nails, and mucous membranes, referred to as superficial or mucocutaneous infections. They may also cause disease beneath the skin (subcutaneous infections) or in internal organs such as the lungs, brain, and heart (deep infections).
Among various fungal species, some have greater clinical significance in pathogenesis:
- Mucor, the causative agent of Mucormycosis, is a rapidly progressing and life-threatening infection.
- Candida albicans and Candida glabrata, causative agents of Candidiasis and invasive Candidiasis, can involve various body systems.
- Aspergillus species, causative agents of Aspergillosis, primarily affect the lungs and severely immunocompromised patients.
Considering the importance of rapid and accurate detection of these pathogenic species, ap-rad has designed and manufactured the Fungiplex PCR Kit. This kit is developed for the rapid, sensitive, and specific identification of ITS sequences in fungi, including Mucor, Candida albicans, Candida glabrata, and Aspergillus species. The use of this kit enables timely diagnosis, screening of at-risk patients, and appropriate treatment management, making it an ideal tool for molecular diagnostic laboratories, healthcare centers, and epidemiological research.
