HPV Low-Risk Screening/Genotyping Real Time PCR Kit

HPV is a DNA virus and one of the most important causes of sexually transmitted diseases, responsible for various skin and mucosal disorders. Clinical manifestations may vary depending on the anatomical site of the lesion and the type of HPV involved. To date, more than 100 different HPV genotypes have been identified, of which over 40 infect the genital tract. Approximately one-third of these are associated with cervical cancer and anal neoplasia. Anogenital HPVs are generally divided into two categories:

1) High-Risk Group:
Has high oncogenic potential (HPV High-risk): By damaging the cell proliferation control system, this group can cause precancerous malignant lesions and invasive cancers such as cervical cancer. The most common high-risk genotypes are 16 and 18; other high-risk genotypes include 31, 33, 35, 39, 45, 51, 52, 53, 56, 58, 59, 66, and 68.

2) Low-Risk Group:
Has low oncogenic potential (HPV Low-risk): This group is found in asymptomatic or benign conditions such as genital warts. The most common low-risk genotypes are 6 and 11; other low-risk genotypes include 40, 42, 43, 44, 54, 55, 61, 67, 74, 81, 83, 84, and 91.
