Description

Reticulocyte Staining Kit

Reticulocyte – A Key Indicator for Assessing Red Blood Cell Production

Reticulocytes are immature red blood cells that still contain residual RNA ribosomes within their cytoplasm. These cells represent the final maturation stage of erythroblasts before they become mature red blood cells (Erythrocytes) and are a crucial indicator for evaluating bone marrow activity and the rate of red blood cell production.

Diagnostic and Staining Features:

  • The residual ribosomes in reticulocytes react with basic dyes such as Brilliant Cresyl Blue or New Methylene Blue and appear as blue/violet granules or strands in the cytoplasm.
  • Immature reticulocytes have a clear, dense reticular network.
  • More mature reticulocytes have only a few scattered dots or short strands.
  • Mature red blood cells lack RNA and appear as bluish-green or greyish cells.

Clinical Application:

  • Diagnosis of hemolytic anemias
  • Assessment of bone marrow regeneration following chemotherapy or transplantation
  • Evaluation of the body’s response to anemia treatment

ap-rad, aiming to provide high-quality and reliable products, has manufactured the Reticulocyte Staining Kit for the accurate observation and counting of reticulocytes, which is a key tool in monitoring blood health and bone marrow function, providing valuable information for treatment decisions.
