Description
VZV Real Time PCR Kit | Varicella-Zoster Virus Detection Kit
Varicella-Zoster Virus (VZV) is a double-stranded DNA virus and a common member of the herpesvirus family. This virus is capable of establishing a latent and persistent infection in humans, remaining in the cells of the infected individual and, in addition to causing primary infection, can also affect the developing immune system of children.
VZV is transmitted through airborne droplets or direct contact with skin vesicles and causes the following diseases:
-
Primary infection: Chickenpox (Varicella), which typically occurs in children and adults and is associated with mild fever, vesicular rash, itching, and maculopapular lesions.
-
Secondary infection: Shingles (Herpes Zoster), resulting from reactivation of the latent virus in adults, especially in immunocompromised individuals, presenting with painful skin rashes (postherpetic neuralgia) and can lead to serious complications such as pneumonia and encephalitis.
ap-rad has designed and manufactured the VZV Real Time PCR Kit with the aim of rapid, sensitive, and specific detection of VZV and its differentiation from other viruses in humans. This kit is an efficient tool for accurate diagnosis and clinical management of VZV-induced infections.
